Australian History buffs check out the – Captain Cook ‘1770’ Festival!

The CAPTAIN COOK 1770 FESTIVAL has been an annual event for nineteen years, commemorating the visit of the Endeavour and the landing of Lt. James Cook and his party on May 24 at the town of Seventeen Seventy, as it is now known. This was the first landing for Cook and his crew in Queensland!

Lexis English Welcomes Nina Schiller as Cambridge Exams Manager!

Lexis English is proud to announce that we have been given full accreditation as an open Cambridge Exams Centre.

 Nina has a long history with Cambridge exams. Before coming to Australia, Nina taught and ran Cambridge exams in Switzerland. Since joining Lexis she has taught Cambridge Pet, First and Advanced before being appointed as ADOS and Cambridge Professional Development coordinator.

There are a couple of requirements that you will need to meet in order to participate in the volunteer program; to ensure your safety, as well as those around you. They are as follows:
  • You must be 18 and over. (An ID check is conducted before you are signed in.  No ID, no wristband, no entry). Unfortunately, no children can volunteer

Cooking Saudi Arabian Food

Today some of our Saudi Arabian students cooked “Kabsa (كبسة‎)” at Lexis Brisbane. The dish is commonly regarded as a Saudi Arabian national dish that is mainly made from a mixture of spices, rice, meat and vegetables. Thanks to Mshari, Hani, and other Saudi students, students at Lexis Brisbane enjoyed the authentic Arabic food.

Lexis Brisbane Soccer World Cup

Yesterday students at Lexis Brisbane had Soccer World Cup Final matches at the Botanical Gardens. The final teams were Brazilian and Saudi Arabian teams and after two and a half hours of long match,  Brazilians won the trophy. Students had lots of fun together and .enjoyed beautiful warm and breezy autumn weather.
