What’s on in Brisbane this weekend!

With the weather predicted to be beautiful and sunny this weekend (exciting!) I’m sure many of you will take the opportunity to head off to places like Moreton Island with Student Uni Travel, but if you decide to stay in Brisbane there is still plenty to do 🙂

Why not Start Friday with a classic movie? Top Gun is playing at the Moonlight Cinema- where you sit outside under the stars to watch the movie. Or, if Top Gun is not your style, The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies is playing on Sunday. Find more information here.

On Saturday in Bowen Hills (just near the city!) we have the popular St Jerome’s  Laneway Festival. It’s a cool music festival with plenty of Australian alternative and indie bands in a funky laneway setting. More information here.

GOMA (The Gallery of Modern Art) is showing a bunch of interesting things at the moment. There’s an exhibit on Japanese Art, and a series of movies about Myths and Legends. This weekend it’s showing movies like E.T. and The Mark of Zorro. More details here.

And to wrap up a great weekend, why not spend a relaxing morning at the Northey Street Markets? It’s a beautiful market set in a wonderful community garden, where local people grow their own fruits and vegetables. Go and have a look around- or buy some beautiful food! More details here.

Have a great weekend everyone! Enjoy yourselves whatever you choose to do 🙂
