Our Lexis Brisbane students had a wonderful afternoon yesterday when we took a big group of excited students to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. The weather was perfect and the conditions ideal for a great outdoor wildlife adventure!
We filled a whole city bus on the way to the sanctuary, and it was lovely to see the students chatting away in English, sharing music and even breaking into a spirited rhythmic clapping to celebrate their excitement! We arrived at the park and the students roamed around, catching their first glimpse of crocodiles, watching cute little wombats dig and trying hard to get the perfect “kangaroo selfie”- it’s always challenging when they bound away!
Always a highlight, though, is the students getting to see the adorable koalas and having the opportunity to have a cuddle and a photo. It’s always very special seeing the joy on their faces when they see the koalas for the first time, and a great reminder of why their time in Australia is so special for these students- getting to experience these once-in-a-lifetime experiences and creating memories of these special Australian moments that they will cherish forever.
Such a wonderful afternoon for all involved! Thanks to all our lovely students for coming and creating such a great experience 🙂
