This week marks the end of yet another term for our Cambridge Preparation classes. Over the last 10 weeks, both students and teachers have been putting in 110% with preparing and studying for this very intensive course. During this time, the students have improved their Speaking, Listening and Writing skills, as well as greatly improving their overall use of English – both every-day and professional. The aim of the Cambridge courses is to assist students in improving all the above skills, as well as prepare them for the final exam, which will give them an accredited level by the University of Cambridge. From there, these skills can be very useful with getting a job, study at university here in Australia, or even applying for a visa in the future.
This term, Lexis Brisbane offered 2 Cambridge courses – First (FCE) and Advanced (CAE). These took place every afternoon and was perfect for students who had morning jobs, or those who simply enjoyed a nice sleep in. As a reward for their outstanding efforts, teachers Judy and Paola treated their students with regular afternoon tea, where TimTams were the popular choice of snack – yum!!
The FCE speaking test was held on Thursday 13th of August, and their paper exam was on Thursday the 20th, while the CAE students had their speaking test on Wednesday the 19th of August, and their final paper exam today, the 21st of August. Both classes were very anxious regarding their exams, but they said they were confident and the preparation they received at Lexis Brisbane was superb!
