Brisbane is roaring with festival activities this weekend, so if you’re looking for something to do, read on!
If you’re looking for a festival with a bit of a twist, then this might be of interest to you. This Sunday (13/09/15), the streets of Newstead will be bustling with celebrations for the ever-so popular Scandinavian Festival. This is one of Brisbane’s most iconic multicultural events as it showcases the popular culture and traditions of Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Estonia and Iceland. For some of you, this might be a nice reminder of home, as they will also have traditional European foods and drink stalls! This is a one day event, so be sure to have a look if you have a chance. If you’ve got some time to spare to venture a little further out of the city, then be sure to add the Redcliffe Jetty Fiesta to your to-do-list this Saturday (12/09/15). The celebrations begin from around 3:00pm that afternoon, and go on well into the night. You’ll find markets and activities lining the streets by day, and by nightfall the real celebrations begin – the jetty will come alive with one of the biggest firework and laser show displays the Moreton Bay region has to offer. As the weather is getting a little warmer now too, why not make a whole day of it and go for a swim at the Redcliffe Lagoon? Have a BBQ by the ocean or go for a stroll along the many beach-side walking paths and take in the fresh Queensland scenery. Click here for a full information guide.
