Good morning everyone! 😀
Wow – we are soon entering the 2nd month of the brand new year. How fast has that gone?! We have plenty of activities in store for you this February, so take a peek below to see what’s on!
As usual we’ll have our weekly workshops on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. I (Tara) will be joining you for the Jobs Workshops here on out. So if you want to prepare your CV and/or cover letters with me before hand, feel free to drop by my desk! 🙂
Wednesday (3/2), we’ll be taking the CityCat to the University of Queensland. They have an AMAZING pizza shop on campus, so let’s get pizza and chill out by the lakes? You must sign up at reception before. Friday (5/2) is our ever-so-popular Drama Club! Head on over to Room 3 after Option Class to join in the fun! Play games, improvise and improve your English.
Ahhh… Love is in the air… The week before Valentine’s Day will see some romantic activities blossoming around the school. Join us on Wednesday (10/2) for the Valentine’s Day Crafternoon. Make a cute card for your special someone or write a cute message for your best friends. There will also be paper and pens up on the reception desk all week for you to write special messages, as well as a postbox for you to put your cards in. Tara will be going around to the classes on Friday to deliver to cards/gifts. Also on Friday (12/2) afternoon, we will have our romantic Movie and Popcorn cinema set up for you to spend time with your loved ones. Awwwww! 🙂
Our Mt Coot-tha Trip is back again this Wednesday (17/2). If you would like to come along, sign up at reception and we will head on up at 2:10pm. Remember to bring your GoCard for the bus. Fares are approximately $3.93 each way. Back by popular demand on Friday (19/2) is our Video Game Torunament; this time with Call of Duty: Black Ops III. Who will be the greatest, the fastest, the champion of all champions?! Registration will be up 1 week before.
Always wanted to go on the Wheel of Brisbane, but never had the chance? Well now is your chance! On Wednesday (24/2), we will be heading on over as a group to check out the Wheel of Brisbane. Remember to bring your student cards to get the discounted price. Adult price: $19 / Student price: $16.50. After the ride, those of you who would like to get some afternoon tea, we will take a trip to the delicious Max Brenner Chocolate shop in South Bank! 🙂 The last activity for the month of February will be Cafe Conversation on Friday (26/2). Enjoy an afternoon practicing your speaking skills over some coffee and sweets.
That’s it for February! This month will also be the last month of Summer, so let’s hope the weather starts cooling down a little in time for Autumn. See you all then! 😀
