What’s on this weekend in Brisbane!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day everyone! 🙂

Tonight on the eve of this lucky day, Irish bars and pubs around the city will be starting their weekend early with celebrations kicking off and going well into the early hours of the morning.

Celebrate in true Irish style by putting on your brightest green clothing and gathering your mates to dance the night away and have a few beers! A few Irish bars to check out are Gilhooley’s on Albert Street, Irish Murphy’s on George Street and Mick O’Malley’s on Queen Street. Be sure to take a look at their websites to keep up to date with other events they may be holding over the weekend. May the luck of the Irish be with you all! 🙂

Nightlife and partying not your thing? Then why not head over to South Bank to see a show? The unforgettable Sound of Music has returned to QPAC for a strictly limited time! Starring some of Australia’s best theater stars such as Cameron Daddo and Amy Lehpamer, this must see show is bound to get you singing and tapping your feet! Tickets are selling fast, so book now!

This Saturday (19/3) the Roma Street Parklands sees the return of the Park the Truck & Movie in the Park event. Portable food trucks and stalls will gather on the green to sell you delicious treats such as King of the Wings (who do THE BEST buffalo wings EVER)! At nightfall, the lights will be dimmed and the movie will begin – this time Minions will be the feature film! 🙂 Food starts at 5pm and the movie starts at 6pm – entry is free!

Who loves Space?! If you haven’t already been to the Brisbane Planetarium but you have always wanted to go, then why not head on over this Saturday night for a Space show! Saturday Night Live will take the audience on an exciting full dome spaceflight through the solar system and to the outer regions of the Milky Way. Adult prices are $15.40 and student prices are $13, so be sure to have your student card ready. Bookings must be made prior to going. Click here to see different dates and other awesome Space shows on offer!

Dreading going back to reality on Monday? Then why not spend the last few hours of the weekend by relaxing down by the River Quay! Sunday Sessions on the Green at the top end of South Bank will be set up with live entertainment, lawn games and activities all free for the public to enjoy. Take a picnic basket and a rug and enjoy the natural beauty of Brisbane! Check out the website for more info!

That’s it for this weekend! As always, remember to plan your journey ahead of time to avoid getting stuck unexpectedly. Also be sure to check the latest on Brisbane’s weather by visiting the BOM website.

😀 Have a great weekend everyone! See you all on Monday! 😀
