Good morning everyone!
We have yet another long weekend coming up, (I LOVE this time of the year, don’t you?!). There are a lot of new and exciting things happening in our beautiful city over the next few days, so if you’re looking for ideas, keep on reading! 😀
I am so excited for this one!! The new Captain America movie Civil War comes out in cinemas TODAY! So make sure you book your tickets online in advance to secure your seats! I recommend South Bank Cinemas as they’re super cheap (remember your student card!), and it’s quite big! Click here to check out the session times and book your tickets. (GO IRON MAN)!! 😀
Some of you might have noticed some delicious looking food stalls over in front of City Hall in King George Square. This little pop-up food festival is here until Friday night, so make sure you take a look before it disappears! The Paper Plate Supper Club is a collection of Brisbane’s best street food vendors that are bound to get your taste buds jumping for joy! They’re open until 9:00pm so why not head over after you’ve finished your late night shopping? 🙂 Take a loot at their official website for more information.
Who has noticed those pretty lanterns popping up all over the place? This weekend, South Bank gets ready for the annual Buddha’s Birthday Festival. This event attracts big crowds every year and is now internationally recognised as one of the largest Buddha’s Birthday Festival in the world! There is a huge list of activities and entertainment to enjoy over the long weekend. Entry is free, and celebrations will take place all across the South Bank esplanade. Click here to see the daily timetable, or to read more about what the festival is about take a look here.
Do you love to run? This Sunday sees the return of the 5K Colour Run. Since its debut in 2014, this colourful fun run has exploded in popularity and is now held regularly in over 50 countries! The 5K Colour Run is all about celebrating a happy, healthy lifestyle and not so much about beating your personal best time. The only requirement is that everyone must wear white clothing. Why? The course is 5km long, and at every 1km checkpoint, participants are dowsed in bright, colourful powder! The best thing about it is that it is all for charity! 🙂 Buy your tickets online here and get ready to get colourful!!
That’s just a few things happening this weekend in Brisbane. If you’re still stuck for ideas on what to do, why not take advantage of the long weekend and travel to other beautiful parts of our beautiful country? Always make sure to plan your journey ahead of time. As always, have an amazing (long) weekend, and have FUN!! 😀 See you all next Tuesday!
