Winter has arrived in Brisbane – FINALLY!

From icy cold winds to sunsets at 5:00pm, Winter has finally touched down in Brisbane! Unfortunately we don’t get snow here in Brisbane (which is disappointing). BUT! This Friday, King George Square (where the clock tower is) will be transformed into a White Winter Wonderland. The Winter Festival‘s are held every year in capital cities and are the biggest winter themed festivals in Australia. This year, it returns bringing you a massive open-air ice skating ring, amusement rides, markets and much more. Already have plans for this Friday night? Don’t worry. The festival will be running until July 10th, so you’ll have plenty of time to check it out. Take a look at these websites for more info.

We’ve had quite a lot of rain lately here in Brisbane, and it is supposed to stick around all weekend. Let’s pray it goes away, as there are some pretty cool events happening this weekend! But as always, please plan your journey ahead of time, and keep up-to-date with weather warnings and rain activity on the BOM website here.

No matter what happens, make the most of your time here in Brisbane and have a great weekend! See you next week! 🙂
