Big events in Brissie this weekend! :D

The weekend is almost upon us, and it brings along some pretty cool events around the city. If you’ve made no plans or are struggling to find something to do, then keep on reading!

Ahoy there Brisbane-ites! The Notorious Caravel is making its return starting this weekend, and it’s coming straight for South Bank! The 60-foot ship is the only remaining 15th Century replica ship in the southern hemisphere, so it’ll be quite a site to see docked in Brisbane River! It is open to the public for only $5 per visit, and will stay with us until September 25th. For more information, click here.

Get ready for CUTENESS OVERLOAD!!!! Queensland’s biggest rescue day is back again at the RNA Showgrounds this Saturday. The wonderful RSPCA rescue and look after thousands of animals every year, and now they need our help to find our furry friends their new forever homes. We know that most of you can’t commit to such a thing during your stay here in Australia, but the event is free and you’re welcome to meet and play with the animals! 😀 Who wouldn’t love that?! ❤ ❤ To read more about the event, click here.

Calling all Sailor Scouts, Jedi’s and Super Heroes! Get excited, because Oz Comi-con is back!! Everything pop-culture related will be all under the roof of the Brisbane Convention Center in South Bank this Saturday and Sunday. Dress as your favourite video game character, battle it out with your rivals in the gamers corner or chill out in the manga library. Whatever your style may be, they’ve got it sorted! Plenty of guest stars will be making an appearance, whom you’ll be able to meet – including the one and only MARIO!!! 😀 *fangirl screams* Tickets start from $32, so be sure to check this awesome event out!! See you there! 🙂 🙂 For more information, guest timetables and event lineup, click here.

Who doesn’t love to bring in the weekend with a few cold beers? Why not enjoy some all weekend long at this year’s Beer InCider Experience 2016. Running across Friday and Saturday over at the Albion Park Raceway, enjoy some craft beer, cider, espresso martinis, and the best of the best from our local food trucks. There will be live music and entertainment all day! Tickets are on sale, which you can buy here or at the door. Cheers! 🙂

Please be careful when going out this weekend, we are expecting some heavy rain on Sunday, and possible showers on Saturday. Keep track of the weather using the BOM website. I like this website, because you can even track where it is raining by using the rain radar.

Have a fantastic weekend everyone, and as always, be safe! 🙂 ❤
