Fun things to see and do in Brisbane this weekend! 💃☀️💃

There is something for everyone to do this weekend in Brisbane. If you didn’t have any plans, well, you do now! 😀

GOMA’s 10th Birthday!

The Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) down by the river at South Bank has turned the big ONE-OH, and to celebrate they have transformed the inside of the building into a playground of fun and wonder. Can I also mention that they have a GIANT 3-storey slide?! Be sure to go visit over the weekend as it’s only here until Sunday! But seriously, take a look at this giant slide!!! Visit he GOMA website here.

Love to read books?

The Lifeline Bookfest is back in Brisbane at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre until the 26th of January. Make sure you don’t miss out on being a part of the world’s LARGEST second-hand book sale. Score yourself a bargain in the $1 section, or work your way up to the rarer books. They have something for everyone there – just make sure you go early in the morning, as you’ll be spending all day there! 🙂 More info can be found here.

It’s getting hot in here…

The true reason behind all this hot weather might be caused by our Cricket Superstars – the Brisbane Heat! The boys are back in town, and this Friday night they will be playing host to the team from Melbourne. Summer cricket is a classic Aussie tradition, so why not join in the fun by cheering on our home team at the Gabba. Tickets can be bought from the Brisbane Heat website. Go boys!

Cinderella is back!

Not much of a sports fan? Then why not treat yourself to a night at the ballet. Cinderella is on at QPAC this weekend only! This classic fairy tale is performed by the Queensland Ballet, which showcases the best local talent, costumes and choreography! Get in quick to secure your seats, before it’s too late! Tickets here.

Too cool for school?

Join the kids from Crunchem Hall Elementary School at the Lyric Theater QPAC for Matilda the Musical! Relive your favourite moments from the 90’s film and get those feet dancing along to the original songs by Tim Minchin. This Roald Dahl classic will excite anyone and everyone! Tickets can be bought on the QPAC website.

That’s it for now. With this weird Brisbane summer weather hanging around, it’s important that you keep an eye out for those pesky afternoon storms. ⛅️ ⚡️ Make sure you plan your trips ahead of time, and listen out for storm warnings. Keep track of the weather using the BOM Rain Radar, and sign-up to the Brisbane City Council’s alert system.

Here is the forecast for this weekend! Stay safe! ❤
