Looks like a great afternoon at Mt-Cootha today!!!🤩
Amazing views, happy people – life’s good 😽
English, rusty intermediate French and very basic Japanese.
A teacher! From the age of six, I dreamt of handing out gold and silver stars to my imaginary student.
On Lamington National Park, to see the cute pademelons (some of the smallest of the macropods).
The Asian restaurants at Warrigal Square and Runcorn Plaza. Food paradise!
I’m half Chinese, a quarter French, an eighth English and an eighth German.
Have a YouTube party and sing along to my favourite sings.
Yes, I spent two years teaching in Japan, and four years teaching and studying in the UK, I loved it all.
I love Port Douglas in Australia – tropical rainforest and beautiful beaches. I also love Borneo for jungles.
So I could meet people from all over the world, share my love of language, and hand out stickers and stamps to my students!
Watch English TV with the subtitles on. Read and listen at the same time. Fluency and accuracy are equally important.
Each month, teachers at Lexis Brisbane nominate the “Student of the Month”. That student is someone who works really hard (inside and outside of the classroom), someone who is really committed to their studies.
In June, that student was Mustika (Ika) from Ben’s Upper-Intermediate class. Ika goes to G.I.L and workshops after class and has made so much progress!
Ika is about to graduate and start a new adventure: Childcare Studies.
We wish her all the best!

Ali has been with the Lexis Homestay Program for the last year. She took her students out to South Bank.
Ali said “it was lovely to hear from Flavia that she is having the best time ever with us. The girls are having a ball and great to hear them laughing. It’s good having the two students at our home so thank-you Teresa as I’m having as much fun with them.” Photo: Ali, Flavia from Brazil and Matsuka from Japan.
