TEACHER’S BIO

  • LANGUAGES YOU SPEAK?

I speak a bit of Spanish and some everyday survival Korean.

  • I ALWAYS WANTED TO BE…?

I always wanted to be a circus acrobat, or a ballet dancer, or both!

  • WHEN YOU ARE IN BRISBANE, DON’T MISS OUT….

When you are in Brisbane don’t miss out on all of the performances around Brisbane. There are concerts, plays, and dance performances happening all the time!

  • BRISBANE BEST KEPT SECRET IS…

Brisbane’s best kept secret is the under age 30 tickets at QPAC.

  • I’LL BET YOU DIDN’T KNOW…

I’ll bet you didn’t know that I’ll be in a circus show this September.

  • WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE THING TO DO?

I have WAY too many hobbies. My favourite things to do are sewing, dancing, circus, embroidery, beading, shopping for vintage clothes, drinking coffee, cooking, knitting, and reading magazines.

  • HAVE YOU EVER LIVED IN ANOTHER COUNTRY?

I’m from the USA and I lived in Korea for a year teaching English. That’s where I met my partner (who’s from Brisbane) and then I moved to Australia.

  • WHAT IS YOUR DREAM HOLIDAY DESTINATION?

My class is doing presentations about holidays at the moment. I made an example presentation about Santorini Greece, so now my dream holiday would be in Santorini.

  • WHY DID YOU BECOME A TEACHER?

I LOVE teaching English. I started as a volunteer in University and I’ve never wanted to stop. My mother is an English teacher as well, so maybe it’s in my blood.

  • WHAT IS YOUR ENGLISH LEARNING TIP?

My biggest tip for students is to be focused and mentally present in class. Stress, anger, and any strong emotions can really stop you from learning. So make sure you are relaxed and able to enjoy your classroom environment.
