March Activities🍕

Have you seen our new amazing activity calendar?! I am pretty excited about our March fun times🤩🤩🤩.

march

Every day we have some interesting events after classes.

Monday is all about Grammar✍️. So, if you need to practice your tenses or comparatives a lot – don’t forget to come to room 2 at 2 pm or room 4 at 4.30 pm.

Tuesday stands for Job Workshop. If you need to make a resume/CV or/and a cover letter, looking for advice on WHERE and HOW to search for a job, want to know about work rights in Australia, taxes or just have any other questions, join our experienced teacher on Tuesday afternoon (room 2 at 2 pm / room 4 at 4.30 pm).

This March we have pretty wonderful and interesting events.

For example, this week on Wednesday join our Cafe conversation club ☕. As a coffeeholic and a person from a non-English speaking background I find that this is the best way to improve your speaking and listening skills. Sign up at the Reception.

On Friday this week we have a Yoga class with Paulina. Our talented student support officer – Paulina is also trained as a yoga instructor. If you want to find your inner peace or simply do some nice stretching 🧘‍♀️ – sign up at the Reception NOW because we have a limited number of places for this class.

On Friday the 16th of March join me (Irina) for some watercolour painting 🎨. We will learn about different watercolour techniques, best materials and paint a beautiful picture which you could frame and take home as a memory about Lexis, Brisbane and Australia.

I am very excited about our city tour booked with Brisbane Greeters  on the 21st of March (Wednesday). If you want to see Brisbane iconic buildings, learn about our amazing history and find hidden gems of our beautiful city, don’t forget to sign up a week before at the Reception, places are limited!

On Wednesday, the 28th of March, we have a Lone Pine trip 🐨. If you are in Australia the must is to cuddle a koala and feed a kangaroo. I personally love Koala Lone Pine Sanctuary more than the world famous Australian Zoo. It’s beautiful and cute… as koalas😍😍😍.

March this year finishes with the Easter Weekend. Don’t forget that the Good Friday is a public holiday in Australia so, no school on the 30th of March but on the 29th of March we have an Aussie-favourite sausage sizzle at 1 pm 👨‍🍳, everyone is welcome and no option class that day!

P.S.: You can find a copy of our calendar on boards in your classroom, at the Reception and the Student Support desks and on our Student Information board.

Meet our Upper-Intermediate teacher – Jamie aka “American Sweetheart” 🤩

What I love about our school is our teachers. They are supportive, smart, funny and, simply, great 🎓

At 11 pm on Saturday, you’ ll find me with Brazilians.

At 8 am on Sunday, you will find me asleep.

My dream holiday destination is anywhere warm.

The best restaurant in Brisbane is my house.

When you are in Brisbane, don’t miss GOMA.

My English tip is practice with native speakers at Meet Ups.

Let’s Learn About BRIS-VEGAS!! 🏢 🏫 ❤️️

It’s the first week of our new Option Classes, and what a fun first week it has been!

Today as part of Laura’s Discover Australia class, she took her students over to the iconic Brisbane City Hall – one of the oldest buildings in town. There, students attended the 100% Brisbane exhibit at the museum where they learned all about the history, listened to famous stories and other fun facts about our beautiful city. ❤

IMG_5464IMG_5472

They even have “smelly tubes” that produce scents that remind you of Brisbane. Such fragrances included “Thunder Storm”, “Frangipani Flowers” and “Fresh Grass”. Kind of weird but VERY COOL at the same time, don’t you think?! 😀

IMG_5469IMG_5468IMG_5466

Students had to also take notes of what they learned throughout the lesson, as they had to answer a questionnaire about Brisbane. Who thinks they can score 100%? 😉
