What’s On in Brisbane this Weekend

Let’s Welcome upcoming Weekend in Brisbane!

On Friday  you can head to Cloudland  for a glamorous Studio 54 themed party.  Disco, glam, big hair, plenty of sparkles – could be the best party Brisbane ever seen. More information here.

Winter is a great time for Brisbane to spend some time outdoors. On Saturday and Sunday we would recommend to visit Roma Street Parkland for a fantastic free event called Parks Alive.  “Parks Alive is a must-do event for anyone interested in sustainability, nature, gardening and design”.

If you are a music fan and love some blues notes City Sounds festival presents Dishpanhands  this Saturday. It is free and outside Wintergarden (Queen Street Mall).

Have a great weekend and see you all on Monday!:)

What’s on this weekend in Brisbane (13/07/18 – 15/07/18)

Good Friday, everyone! Hope you are having pretty amazing plans for this weekend. If not, here are some ideas for you to look at, try and explore:

Tonight at 6 pm we would recommend you to go to GOMA (just across the river) for  JAMES TURRELL LIGHTS UP GOMA . The new installation will beautifully  illuminate GOMA’s eastern and southern facades from within.  The wonderful view and good friends  are the best start for the weekend.

On Saturday 14th July head to Fortitude Valley for Colombian Street Festival.  What you need in this cold Brisbane winter is a traditional Colombian street party with great food, drinks, arts and entertainment.

This Sunday is the last chance for you to practice your ice skating skills. Brisbane’s Skating At pop-up ice-skating rink is located in the city centre at King George Square. Romantic lighting, beautiful music, fantastic rides are the must for a perfect winter fairy tale.

Have a great weekend and see you all on Monday ❤

March Activities🍕

Have you seen our new amazing activity calendar?! I am pretty excited about our March fun times🤩🤩🤩.

march

Every day we have some interesting events after classes.

Monday is all about Grammar✍️. So, if you need to practice your tenses or comparatives a lot – don’t forget to come to room 2 at 2 pm or room 4 at 4.30 pm.

Tuesday stands for Job Workshop. If you need to make a resume/CV or/and a cover letter, looking for advice on WHERE and HOW to search for a job, want to know about work rights in Australia, taxes or just have any other questions, join our experienced teacher on Tuesday afternoon (room 2 at 2 pm / room 4 at 4.30 pm).

This March we have pretty wonderful and interesting events.

For example, this week on Wednesday join our Cafe conversation club ☕. As a coffeeholic and a person from a non-English speaking background I find that this is the best way to improve your speaking and listening skills. Sign up at the Reception.

On Friday this week we have a Yoga class with Paulina. Our talented student support officer – Paulina is also trained as a yoga instructor. If you want to find your inner peace or simply do some nice stretching 🧘‍♀️ – sign up at the Reception NOW because we have a limited number of places for this class.

On Friday the 16th of March join me (Irina) for some watercolour painting 🎨. We will learn about different watercolour techniques, best materials and paint a beautiful picture which you could frame and take home as a memory about Lexis, Brisbane and Australia.

I am very excited about our city tour booked with Brisbane Greeters  on the 21st of March (Wednesday). If you want to see Brisbane iconic buildings, learn about our amazing history and find hidden gems of our beautiful city, don’t forget to sign up a week before at the Reception, places are limited!

On Wednesday, the 28th of March, we have a Lone Pine trip 🐨. If you are in Australia the must is to cuddle a koala and feed a kangaroo. I personally love Koala Lone Pine Sanctuary more than the world famous Australian Zoo. It’s beautiful and cute… as koalas😍😍😍.

March this year finishes with the Easter Weekend. Don’t forget that the Good Friday is a public holiday in Australia so, no school on the 30th of March but on the 29th of March we have an Aussie-favourite sausage sizzle at 1 pm 👨‍🍳, everyone is welcome and no option class that day!

P.S.: You can find a copy of our calendar on boards in your classroom, at the Reception and the Student Support desks and on our Student Information board.
